Puzzled by incongruities of my own life, I sought help from purveyors of answers from some of the more occult regions. Most were writers. Their published works held court in a tiny corner of my local bookstore under the vaguely generic heading "Metaphysics". Some were Stargazers. Many were divinitory in some respect. I found a wealth of information and, in addition to the many self-help books, there was a curious admixture of Pythagorean numerical symbolism, ancient Chinese Oracles, and even Wise Cards that spoke in symbol & through pattern. All promised to help me understand more about the enigmatic world around me and offered some plan for a personal change-out or make-over as a solution. So the journey began....
Having thus been launched, although I was still muddling around in some rough waters for quite awhile, I gradually drifted down the stream of Time ever more deeply into the realm of Astrology. The stars were, indeed, consulted by my own mother, after a fashion. This singular fact helped to override the many other childhood religious taboos I'd absorbed that forbade anything astrological. Still, those taboos can die pretty hard...
So, for many years, my ambitions were only to read the charts of the two people whose relationship puzzled me most, my then-husband and myself. Along the way, I discovered my simple goal involved embracing a vast range of knowledge which I simply hadn't imagined aforehand. However, had I known, I might never have made the journey! And, I'm glad I did. Life is richer, and everything in my world makes a lot more sense.
