I've loved using Solar Fire® from the moment I first saw it, running on my friend's computer. Once I had my own copy, I knew that it was a vastly capable tool. So, I set about learning to use it. Slowly my comfort level, and my knowledge base grew....
The years of drawing charts by hand took their toll, however: I really missed all those little degree marks around the edges of the wheel! Soon, by investigating possibilities, I was creating my own chart wheel designs---so I could have my degree marks back with me again. I slowly learned how to do this customization and that other one, and gloried in them all.
After a time, it got so that I used, and relied upon, some of the specialty pages that are shipped with Solar Fire®. But, until very recently, I had not sucessfully encountered the Page Designer. I would go in there and look around, feel lost, and depart. Finally, one day, I tackled it. I started taking 'notes' (screen captures) inside the 'Help' files. Once I had a nice little collection of them going, I put them in a handy place, and read them over and over.
Then, I launched the program and the rest is, as they say, history. Starting with a separate copy of an existing page, I began adding things, and moving them around. It was fun, and much easier than I thought. Then, I found that it's really less work to start with a new page, although it looked awfully bare at first! A little experience with the great tools was all that was required, however, and soon I was on my way.
Thinking that other Astrologers, of my acquaintance, might not be aware of the rich mine of potential, lurking inside Page Designer's humble exterior, I decided to share my 'field notes' from the experiences of learning to use the application.

Why Design Your Own Page?
There are quite a few custom pages (that display specialty charts, data bases, and graphs) provided with the impressive Solar Fire® (versions 4 & 5). You've seen 'em. You've even used 'em!
And, sometimes you've just wished you had a different page that included specific groups or types of information that you'd love to gather all together in one place. This would be something very useful to you as an Astrologer, whether you're practicing as an amateur, or as a professional.
Right now, it may seem like that'll always remain a part of your fantasy world. You can dream of it, and picture it in your mind's eye, but you haven't ever found one quite like it anywhere else.
Well, now you can create your own specialty pages with a simplistic and graceful ease. Creating such pages, step-by-step, is what this group of web-pages is all about. Below, you will find several buttons that link you to the various stages and topics essential to creating your own pages in Solar Fire®. They are grouped according to topic for ease of use; and to avoid holding too much information on one page. Click through them sequentially, as they were designed; or randomly, as you wish!
