With 'Credits' for Starlit Path
Joanna is an Astrologer who also writes articles, something Astrologers frequently do. But, in addition, she makes the computer graphics, and writes the HTML for Starlit Path.com, too (by hand, using a color-enhancement text editor).
What has evolved into this page was originally designed merely as a temporary filler, serving only until the creative process matured.
However, site newsflashes gradually began appearing here...
Upon further examination, it was determined that multiple credits were presented, as well. So, it seemed appropriate to finally distinguish the essentials from the trifles, and present them on their very own, dedicated page.

Outset of the latest revisions to Starlit Path
· Major Revisions in 2005! ·
Early in 2005, Joanna's web hosting service changed their entire system. The exigencies of life had been pressing for months prior, and it seemed impossible to fully update the site according to their schedule. Thus, brief updates, that had been done during the fall and early winter, were lost when the site was replaced by an older, if near-duplicate copy, that had been preserved on the new server during the previous summer.
So, to catch up with all of this, Joanna began a major revision after the first of the year. The happy result of her revisory endeavors is that, accompanying multiple minor amendments, she also added new graphics (including a Moon photo taken through her telescope), links and content to her two premier articles on Decans and Duads. In addition, she has developed links to the entire site from every page on Starlit Path.
· Starlit Path Passes Validator's Scrutiny ·
Joanna's adopted brother, a computer professional, repeatedly encouraged her to review the Starlit Path web pages, specifically to work on her HTML. She says of the experience, "I've really enjoyed creating my own HTML pages for Starlit Path. I'm self-taught, but have always wanted to know the reasons behind things, how they work. I've surfed the 'net, and have seen lots of pages 'load with errors'. I wanted to avoid that on StarlitPath.com. So, I learned how to do the HTML coding myself, from scratch."

The Astrology of it? Well, Joanna's progressed Ascendant is in Aquarius, co-ruler of Astrology & computers....
And, the Ascendant is one of the strongest places in the chart, following the Sun & the Moon.
"I felt overwhelmed when my brother first suggested that I do further work on Starlit Path's HTML," she reports. "But, he offered suggestions and support, and eventually I was ready to test my efforts."
She uploaded her revised pages, and tested them on the World Wide Web Consortium web site. "When one of the pages finally passed the W3C Validator (an HTML Standards testing tool) I was ecstatic!" she exclaims. At the same time, she began four new Astrology articles, completed one, and revised the underlying structure of the website.

"The Validator is very Saturnian. It is both a useful tool, and a strict taskmaster. But, in the end your efforts are well rewarded!" she says. The Starlit Path is honored to receive such a prestigious award, and Joanna is very proud to display this icon on her website.
As of March 2005, the entire site again passes the W3C Validator (meaning all the HTML code meets the standard); even the newest pages. While she's permitted to post the W3C icon-link on each page that passes the Validator's careful scrutiny, she is posting it only once, right here, instead. Joanna says, "Feel free to Copy'n Paste the address for any of my pages, and test them for yourself!" Just follow the link above.
Website Creation
"By way of acknowledgment, it seems suitable to include this section somewhere on-site." Without the help of the following programs, Joanna says that the work of assembling the Starlit Path's website would have been much harder!
· Primary Tools ·
She says that Metapad 2.0 is her favorite text editor. She uses it to write all of her articles, email, notes; "In fact, anything I write, I usually start with Metapad. For the final web pages and updates, I turn to Arachnophilia 4.0, a wonderfully simple, yet capable, color-coded HTML editor." She enters all her HTML code by hand, then double-checks it with the Validator, for accuracy.
· The Other Tools ·
"I'd have to include this group of fine software, along with the ones listed above. Together, they represent the essential armamentarium of tools I've used to create the website for Starlit Path. It's been a challenging project, but well worth the effort!"
