    • Enormous help! Covers absolutely everything. If you're ever wondering about any Rulership, it's probably listed here. Since Astrology is read via Rulerships, this is the "must have" book! No Astrologer should be without it!
  • Astrology, Karma & Transformation

    • Author:  Stephen Arroyo
    • Publisher:  CRCS Publications, Sebastopol, Ca.
    • Absolutely a Classic! This is lucid, thought provoking, illuminates the chart. One senses its startling accuracy almost at once! After a few progressions or transits have transpired, one is utterly convinced of it...
  • Classical Astrology for Modern Living

    • Author:  Dr. J. Lee Lehman, Ph.D.
    • Publisher:  Whitford Press, Atglen, Pa.
    • The Classical Methods, used by Astrologers of the Renaissance, fascinate me. I am unable to put this one down! It is well researched and well written.
  • The East Point and The Antivertex

    • Author:  Maritha Pottenger
    • Publisher:  booklet, ACS Publications, San Diego, Ca.
    • Very short, but very good. You'll be using these adjuncts in every chart, once you brush up on them here!
  • Making the Gods Work for You

    • Author:  Caroline W. Casey
    • Publisher:  Three Rivers Press, New York, NY.
    • This book is very moving. It is well founded and of a very Spiritual nature. Although it takes a little different tack at times, it will steer you well.

 

HORARY:

  • Horary Astrology, Plain & Simple

    • Author:  Anthony Louis
    • Publisher:  Llewellyn Publications, St. Paul, Mn.
    • Looking for an in-depth book on Horary with a modern, lucid style? This is the book to have. It is simply the Best! It uses charts ancient and modern, explains cryptic classical procedures clearly, and is a joy to read.
  • The Only Way To... Learn About Horary & Electional Astrolgy

    • [VoI VI of the series]
    • Author:  Marion D. March & Joan McEvers
    • Publisher:  ACS Publications, San Diego, Ca.
    • Come to grips with Horary in this invitingly easy treatment. Lavished with examples, each one is illustrated by its attendant chart. Guaranteed to get you off to a great start in Horary! When you're done, move on to Electional:  it's covered also.

 

PREDICTIVE:

  • The Eagle and the Lark, A Textbook of Predictive Astrology

    • Author:  Bernadette Brady
    • Publisher:  Weiser Books, York Beach, Maine.
    • Covers everything. Makes it all understandable. Lucid writer. Includes rare coverage of Eclipses in the last section of the book. This document is a truly seminal work, and if that weren't enough, it's very well done!

 

RELOCATIONAL:

  • Astrocartography

    • Author:  Jim Lewis
    • Publisher:  currently out of print.
    • Written by the developer of the concept; sadly, he is now deceased. Get a copy if you can find it. Efforts are being made to republish his work, so don't loose hope.

 

BEGINNER SERIES:

  • The Only Way to Learn... series

    • Author:  Marion D. March & Joan McEvers
    • Publisher:  ACS Publications, San Diego, Ca.
    • This outstanding series is complete unto itself. Owning it puts everything you need to know about Astrology right at your fingertips. There are 6 volumes altogether, and they are wonderful. ...get 'em all, if you can!
  • The Compleat Astrologer

    • Author:  Derek & Julia Parker
    • Publisher:  Bantam Books, Toronto, New York, London.
    • This book, or it's updated kin, is once again available and is very complete. If you can only afford one book, this one will give you everything you need to start erecting and reading charts.
  • Meet Your Planets

    • Author:  Roy Alexander
    • Publisher:  Llewellyn Publications, St. Paul, Mn.
    • You can easily visualize them in their roles after perusing this one!
  • Astrology for the Light Side of the Brain

    • Author:  Kim Rogers-Gallagher
    • Publisher:  ACS Publications, San Diego, Ca.
    • Really fun, and really to the point! Quite complete, 'though not at all tedious. You'll find yourself grinning a lot and learning more, almost effortlessly!
  • Astrology, A Cosmic Science

    • Author:  Isabel Hickey
    • Publisher:  CRCS Publications, Sebastopol, Ca.
    • A very complete treatise by a much revered and, sadly, deceased teacher. Many of her students are now prominent practising Astrologers. Another one of the 'if you could only have one book, get this one' books.
  • The Inner Sky

    • Author:  Steven Forrest
    • Publisher:  ACS Publications, San Diego, Ca.
    • Handles everything very nicely. Solid information. Excellent writing style. Wonderful examples! ...you'll really enjoy it!
  • Choice Centered Astrology

    • Author:  Gail Fairfield
    • Publisher:  Weiser Books, York Beach, Maine.
    • Covers the material very well; the author makes good observations. She is also well organized, and her work makes logical sense, providing the student with easy to grasp formats. Comprehensive. An excellent primer!
